Oye Kake is a casual dining place where one can relish on some authentic and delectable dishes of Noth Indian cuisine. It’s a pure vegetarian restaurant having two outlets, one is situated at the prime location of Kamala Mills in Lower Parel and the other one is at Fort. The place is pocket-friendly with an outspread menu having approximately 26 different varieties of sabzis, parathas, a range of lassis, kulchas etc. Currently, they have added special mango dishes on the menu in accordance with the ongoing season which is sure to satisfy your taste buds so do check them out!
Ambience:-
The moment you enter the restaurant, you are welcomed by the sight of some colourful clay pot like lamps on the wall along with the framed featured articles of Oye Kake that came in some prominent newspapers. The place is a mid-sized family restaurant having comfortable seatings and well-lit ambience. The groovy Punjabi/Bollywood tracks playing in the background, while you enjoy the scrumptious servings, add up to the whole experience.

The manager Mr Dinesh greeted us as we entered the restaurant and him along with Mr Balwant recommended us various dishes according to our taste and preferences. The service was prompt and the servings were delicious courtesy the chef Mr Vinod who prepared some excellent dishes. Overall, we were satisfied with the service.

Starters:-
Cheese masala papad: The papad was crisp with an adequate amount of masala, cheese and veggies. Just that I found it a bit oily.
Bhatti da paneer: The panner was marinated well with the masala and was sufficiently roasted on the tandoor giving it a golden colour layered texture. It tasted delectable and was soft on the bite.
Note: The picture below was taken of the serving I had on my plate hence it has 3 pieces otherwise there are six pieces on the platter.
Main course:-
Veg Amritsari with Aloo Kulcha and Palak naan: A mix of finely chopped veggies, paneer and cheese was flavoursome in all aspects. The taste of the sabzi enhanced with the combination of palak naan which was toothsome. Along with the naan, we also ordered for one Aloo Kulcha which is a speciality of this restaurant and it was absolutely lip smacking! A bowl of chole which came along with the kulcha was scrummy and the combination was heavenly. The presentation (in steel plates) and the taste of the food is as authentic as it gets. It was one of the most satisfying main course experiences I have had. Also, the quantity was sufficient for two people.
Dessert:-
Mango cream
It’s just the perfect way to end the dining experience with a bowl filled with cream, mango essence and finely chopped Alphonso mango. The luscious and rich flavour of the Mango Cream had my heart and I would highly recommend it!
Overall, the authentic taste of Amritsari food and prompt service made the dining experience to be worthwhile.
